Labertouche Primary School is a small rural school in West Gippsland, within a ten minute drive from Drouin and Longwarry. Set on approximately 5 acres with beautiful surroundings and a vast array of natural wildlife, Labertouche Primary School is only 5 minutes off the Princes Highway. We have an extensive vegetable patch maintained by students, where produce grown is used in our fortnightly cooking class. We have a chicken coop where the students collect the eggs and extensive facilities including indoor sandpit, multi purpose football oval, synthetically surfaced basketball court, undercover area and a playground catering for both junior and senior students. We have also worked hard over the past few years, to develop a student kitchen set up with four complete stations that our students use on a regular basis to cook and create wonderful and healthy meals.
Labertouche Primary School provides a safe and enjoyable learning, as a small school we have the advantage of knowing all of our students, and their learning needs, very well. We have the capacity, room and resources to provide students with the kind of learning that other schools can only dream of. Our NAPLAN results are steady, with targeted improvement goals in focus; we also have technological learning which is both part of our future, and present, with newly purchased class sets of Ipads and netbooks for student use.
